Overview:
CHL's Emergency Services unit provides on-site and mobile assessments and screenings for children, adolescents and adults experiencing a mental health and/or substance abuse emergency. The unit services the communities of Leominster, Fitchburg, Ayer, and Clinton, MA. Qualified clinicians and medical personnel trained in emergency evaluation and with knowledge of medical, legal, emergency and community services perform all assessments and screenings. The program runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year and a psychiatrist is on call at all times. The unit also includes emergency respite beds as a means of diversion from hospitalization for individuals experiencing situational crises or pronounced transitional issues.

Responsibilities:

Fee for Service (no more than 20 hrs/wk) RN/License Eligible Clinicians to:

 

  • Evaluate individuals in crisis in a variety of settings including off site in the community.
  • Coordinate service with receiving programs and insurers.
  • Work closely with insurers and other programs.
  • Liaison with other facilities including schools, doctors, individuals, and other social service agencies, insurance providers and hospital networks regarding clients, client services and case management.
  • May supervise paraprofessional staff activities during the shift by assigning duties and training.
  • Participate in the therapeutic milieu setting.
  • Maintain client records and administrative records according to policy.
  • Attend administrative staff meetings as required.
  • Attends in-service education, clinical supervision and professional meetings as required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field required.
  • Must be clinical license eligible, LCSW, LMHC or LICSW, or have a valid and current MA RN license.
  • Experience in clinical setting working with population preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage clients, successfully advocate for clients and to work well with other professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to work well as a contributing member of multi-disciplinary team of service providers.
  • Must have valid MA driver's license and registered, insured automobile for work.
