Overview

Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention: The Emergency Service Program (ESP) is available 7 days per week, 24-hours per day to provide on-site or mobile assessment and screening to any individual experiencing a mental health or substance abuse problem, or both. The ESP services the communities of Worcester, Shrewsbury, Auburn, Millbury, Spencer, West Boylston, Sterling, Holden, Grafton, Boylston and Leicester.   Services are provided to children, adolescents, and adults at our Community Based Location (CBL) and can be mobilized to clients home if appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term clinical crisis intervention services that is a mobile or onsite, face-to-face therapeutic response to an individual experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
  • Identify, assess, stabilize and treat the individual with the goal of reducing imminent risk and increasing coping skills and functioning.
  • The clinician works alongside paraprofessionals/family partners, psychiatrists and other ESP staff as a member of a multidisciplinary team devoted to linking the individual to the appropriate level of care.
  • Assist in diverting individuals from more intensive levels of care and maintaining them in their home communities.
  • Awake overnight staff must be able to remain awake and alert during the overnight shift to provide a safe and healthly environment for our clients and co-workers

Qualifications

  • Grade 9: Community Nurse: Must have a Current MA RN License
  • One year of treatment experience with individuals in a mental health setting
  • Evidence of culturally competent practice required
  • Experience in providing treatment to those in crisis and abusing substances is highly desired
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
