Inpatient Addictions Evening Nurse Supervisor

Community Healthlink’s (CHL) acute inpatient substance abuse treatment services provide 24 hour nursing care and observation for clients that are recovering from drug and alcohol dependence.  There are 3 programs that offer services from detoxification to various levels of intensity in treatment and all clients are offered help with aftercare placement.


All of the programs are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and two of the programs have been awarded a three year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).


Individuals can gain access to the programs by calling a centralized admissions department for a screening.  The Residential Counselor position available in this department will report directly to the Admissions Coordinator.


  • Reports to  Program Directors of BHAUC, Passages and TSS and Director of Nursing
  • Provides leadership and weekly clinical nursing supervision for nurses in Behavioral Health Addictions Urgent Care and nurses on Passages and TSS programs. Ensures ANA professional nursing standards of practice and code of ethic are adhered to.
  • Provides and documents individual supervision and  attends nursing meetings
  • Attends and supports nurses attendance at all staff meetings
  • Ensures staff  attend all required CHL trainings and follows CHL policies and proceduresssists in developing and implementing  a comprehensive orientation for nurses
  • Provides staff and client education
  • Facilitates as needed with  client health education groups and trains nurses in group education skills
  • Functions as a member of management team, attending management meetings as required
  • Works weekend day and holidays as needed
  • Responds to emergencies including de-escalation as needed
  • Develops strong collaborative relationships with members of management team, staff, peers, physicians and within the community
  • Represents Community Healthlink in a professional manner


  • Must be RN, BSN preferred
  • Minimum 4-5 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years working in the field of Mental Health and or Addictions
  • Current  MA nursing license and CPR
  • Minimum 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to work with diverse staff and client population
  • Maintains highest standards of nursing practice, ethics, and professionalism
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
