Overview

PASSages is an intensive, short-term (2-4 week), inpatient treatment program for men and women 18 and older who suffer from substance use disorders but do not require detox. The program provides individual counseling sessions and comprehensive case management services to each client along with at least seven treatment groups per day, run by all team members (residential counselors/recovery specialists, case managers, clinicians, nurses). PASSages is an exciting, dynamic environment in which all members of the multidisciplinary team work together to ensure the best outcomes for our clients. Responsibilities

Provide counseling services to clients with substance abuse and mental health issues. This involves facilitating groups, writing behavioral treatment plans, insurance reviews, individual counseling, and participating as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client evaluations including bio-psychosocial assessment, diagnostic formulation and initial treatment recommendations.
  • Facilitate psycho-ed and rehabilitation groups using standard group techniques.
  • Meet with clients for individual counseling to assist in attaining treatment goals.
  • Write treatment plans including client’s strengths with behaviorally based goals and objectives.
  • Document progress of goals and objectives in progress notes.
  • Maintain productivity standard as set by supervisor.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings on time and remain for duration of meeting.
  • Participate in agency committees, or community education as assigned.
  • Be an active participant in the multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Recognize and seek consultation as needed.
  • Develop a training plan to enhance professional growth.
  • Refer clients to appropriate resources within and outside CHL.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Work assigned hours, which may include rotation of weekends and evening hours.
  • Participate in utilization management, employ CARF standards and assist as needed in re-accreditation processes and perform other job related duties.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Grade 5: Clinician II:  Bachelor's degree required in psychology, counseling or social work, CADC or LADC preferred. 
  • Grade 6: Clinician III: Master's degree required.
  • At least one year of counseling in substance abuse/mental health setting.
  • Demonstrate a basic, functional knowledge of counseling skills.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of addiction and mental health issues.
  • Able to conduct a mental status exam and prepare a clearly written request for psychiatric consultation.
  • Reflect a significant understanding of gender specific interventions and understand concepts of culturally competent practice.
  • Manage paperwork resulting in completion of paperwork within required time limits.
  • Develop a strong working rapport with clients, superiors, and peers and participated as a team member.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and demonstrate professional attitude and conduct.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
