Overview

Community Healthlink's Patient Accounts Office, located in Leominster, MA, is the agency's main patient accounts office. It plays a vital role in the effective delivery of services to our client population by ensuring the appropriate collection of client insurance receivables.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track all stages of the claims process for non-contracted and contracted payers
  • Work within the business office on follow-up related to primary care/behavioral health billed accounts. This includes ensuring the proper documentation is on file to support billed procedures
  • Understand and remain updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Maintain contacts with other departments to obtain and analyze additional patient information to document and process billings
  • Provide back-up support to other billing staff and handle special projects assigned by Revenue Cycle Manager
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Create spreadsheets and track data for the presentation to management and staff
  • Make procedural decisions and recommend policy and departmental procedure in compliance with agency goals and objectives
    

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years in medical insurance/healthcare billing as well as collections experience in primary care or an FQHC facility, with a thorough understanding of medical billing rules and regulations
  • Must possess knowledge in Medicare rules and regulations regarding modifiers as they relate to primary care/behavioral health billing
  • Demonstrated skills with computers, prioritization and time management
  • Knowledgeable of various insurance payers’ rules and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledgeable about HIPAA, PHI Compliance
  • Proficient in Excel/Word/Power Point
  • Must be able to pass CORI background check
