Overview

Community Healthlink, Inc. is a multi-service, private, non-profit organization committed to promoting, maintaining and restoring the dignity, well-being and mental health of individuals and families in Central Massachusetts.

 

Community Healthlink's IS department supports approximately 1000 staff in multiple locations. 

 

Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the EHR System Administrator/EHR Team Lead will participate in the implementation of new electronic health records, will lead a comprehensive approach to sustaining EHR utilization, reporting and identifying challenges. He/she will develop a comprehensive, ongoing sustainability plans, provide oversight to assigned I.S. staff and utilize metrics to assure that goals and objectives are met. This position requires knowledge of processes and workflows common in behavioral health and substance use treatment in addition to advanced EHR systems experience. The ideal candidate for this position would be a clinician (e.g. Nurse, Social Worker) with experience in overseeing and implementing electronic health records, EHR Application Analyst or an EHR Consultant.

Responsibilities

  • Develops comprehensive EHR delivery plans and provides management/oversight to assigned I.S. staff.
  • Directs, coordinates and supervises assigned staff and activities within defined scope.
  • Responsible for timely creation and submission of required EHR reporting deliverables.
  • Responsible for timely notification of the leadership of problematic variances in EHR budget or other performance issues, with recommended appropriate solutions.
  • Leads or performs studies to develop understanding of program clinical or business processes, and corresponding EHR system needs
  • Oversees the build and support of reports, procedures, systems and controls.
  • Leads a team or individually design/select clinical and business information systems to meet EHR/program needs. Develops detailed conceptual designs/specifications that define the scope, objectives, and functional and reporting requirements.
  • Produces data flow diagrams. Devises and modifies procedures. Performs and leads studies of the impact of major systems conversions.
  • Apprises leadership of EHR systems design issues, ensuring that the leadership is informed of alternatives, the results of cost/benefit analyses, and the problematic implications of changes under consideration.
  • Develops, reviews, and documents EHR test plans. Leads or performs EHR/system tests. Ensures that test requirements are met.
  • Communicates with EHR vendors to resolve system issues
  • Leads or performs tasks for the preparation of complete EHR systems documentation, to include instructions, operating procedures, flow processes, security and control requirements.
  • Fosters on-going support to assigned programs, and serves as a liaison between I.S., vendors and other I.S staff for effective responses to users’ needs.
  • Specifies staff, provider and clinician training needs and provides coaching and training to foster staff self-sufficiency and optimizes system utilization.
  • Oversees and coordinates with I.S. training staff for the delivery of courses and workshops for existing and new staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of current EHR, system development and programming techniques, clinical and business practice trends, and related EHR systems technologies.
  • Develops and recommends budgets for ongoing EHR costs. Manages activities to assure clinical, quality and financial goals are met.
  • Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Encourages and supports diverse views and approaches, creating an environment of inclusion, professionalism, respect, and acceptance toward all staff, clients and visitors.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of LEAN Six Sigma methodology in daily operations.
  • Ensures EHR compliance with regulatory agencies like DMH, BSAS, DPH, HRSA. Supports the development and maintenance of procedures necessary to meet quality initiative requirements like MACRA and Meaningful Use.
  • Ensures compliance with Community Healthlink’s policies, quality assurance programs, safety.
  • Performs other job related duties as required or directed

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this position would be a clinician (e.g. Nurse, Social Worker) with experience in overseeing and implementing electronic health records, or, EHR Application Analyst or an EHR Consultant.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master in Social Work or a related clinical field with a background in mental health and/or substance use treatment
  • Five years of systems experience required
  • Experience with behavioral health EHR is strongly desired
  • Excellent project management and communications skills required
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role preferred
  • Experience in a technical support environment preferred
  • Experience in training and educating users preferred
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
