    Through expansion of Community Healthlink's Medical Services we continue to provide high-quality medical care to individuals who are not necessarily homeless and would benefit from CHL's medical expertise in the management of complex psychosocial and medical problems.  Specifically, we aim to provide care to individuals who struggle with the challenge of meeting routine medical needs because of mental illness and/or substance addiction.  Our experience and strongly-held values position us to optimize health for these individuals and reduce overall medical costs by providing superior quality, patient centered medical care.  Working as an inter-disciplinary team, we will guide the future of primary and behavioral healthcare by contributing to, disseminating and applying current knowledge, and by personalizing health care to meet the needs of each individual.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervises assigned employees and activities for the efficient administration of the Medical Assistant practice in primary care and behavioral health practices in the agency.  Coordinates a broad range of medical assistant activities, provides direct clinical care as needed, and other related duties as assigned.
    • Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.  Makes recommendations on employee hire, transfers, discipline, terminations, and other similar actions.
    • Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Provides input based on observations related to counseling and disciplinary issues.  Implements corrective actions plans as required.
    • Manages Kronos for medical assistants; time-cards and schedules 
    • Plans, implements and evaluates the assigned daily staffing needs to adequately support patient care across Community Healthlink.  Assigns staff based upon patient needs, practice volume, staff qualifications, and department policy.
    • Assist Manager or others in responding to patient concerns as needed. Monitors and addresses patient complaints within position responsibility. Ensures the highest level of patient satisfaction. Works with physicians and others to address and prevent problems.
    • Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with clinic-wide initiatives.
    • Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems.  Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved.
    • Assist in developing policies and programs within the department, and acts as a positive role model for staff
    • Creates an environment that nurtures the empowerment of medical assistant staff members, encourages the development of self-directed work teams, and pro-actively pursues and encourages continuous quality management and innovation.
    • Demonstrates an ability to work effectively and communicate frequently with all members of the patient care and administrative team across multiple departments
    • Provides medical assistant staff with information, education, and tools to ensure they are supporting efficient patient flow in the practice.
    • Utilizes and maintains equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
    • Ensures compliance with Operations Manual, Policies and Procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.  Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirement.
    • Ensures that assigned area comply with clinic established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
    • Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for assigned area.
    •  Performs other job related duties as required or directed.
    • Will also work as floor medical assistant and help where and when needed

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of Medical Assistant program with three to five years of relevant experience.
    • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, including problem solving skills and the ability to communicate via written reports.
    • Excellent communication, team building, and organizational skills
    • Current valid US-issued drivers license and ability to provide a registered an insured automobile for work related purposes including travel between work sites
    • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
