Overview

The Transitional Support Services, TSS Program, is a new CHL program providing services within the agency’s acute substance abuse services continuum. As a post Detox program, the program is designed to work with men and women on their goals for recovery while preparing them for their next step in treatment. Clients in the program are pursuing, accepted or waiting for further placement and are expected to stay no longer than 90 days. A portion of our clients are referred to the program from section 35 treatment providers.


The TSS unit will have a structured day program that provides an environment to engage in recovery and develop recovery tools. Patients participate in psycho-educational groups and receive case management services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise clients on unit
  • Milieu Management
  • Maintain safety of unit
  • Facilitate client intakes and discharges
  • Medication supervision
  • Conduct toxicology screens and personal searches
  • Helping clients with daily needs
  • Maintaining cleanliness of unit

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Grade 5: Residential Counselor I - HSD/HiSet/GED required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Grade 6: Residential Counselor II - Bachelor's degree required; degree and/or coursework in social work, counseling, psychology or related field preferred

  • Good communication and time management

  • Previous experience with the program's population

  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
