Outpatient Behavioral Health and Primary Care Services


Our Fitchburg Counseling Center Outpatient Behavioral Health and Primary Care Services specialize in caring and professional services for adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Outpatient care might include individual, family or group psychotherapy, psychiatric services, medication management, wellness services, primary care, crisis management, or case management. The Outpatient Team includes primary care clinicians, psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, psychologists and mental health counselors trained and experienced in the care of those with serious mental health conditions. We work closely with primary care physicians, area hospitals and inpatient programs, the Department of Mental Health, and other providers to coordinate care. Services are available in Spanish, Cantonese, and English, and in other languages with the use of interpreter services. Community Healthlink’s Counseling Centers feature services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Our clinics are located in Worcester, Fitchburg, and Leominster.                                  


The Clinician III/IV provides outpatient diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services to adults in individual, family, couple, and group therapy; provides consultation to community groups and agencies in a manner which respects diversity. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 

  • Provides direct clinical treatment to adults as represented in the caseload through diagnostic evaluations and screenings, crisis/emergency assessment and intervention, treatment planning and assessment, individual, group, couple and family therapy
  • Participates in interdisciplinary diagnostic treatment and planning conferences.
  • Consults with doctors, individuals, and other social service agencies, insurance providers and hospital networks regarding clients, client services, and case management.
  • Maintains client records and administrative records according to Center policy.
  • Maintains unit productivity standard according to collective bargaining agreement.
  • Attends administrative staff meetings as required.
  • Attends in-service education, clinical supervision and professional meetings as required.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
  • If Clinician IV may provide clinical supervision of staff or Utilization Review.  

This position is productivity bonus eligible



  • Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and practices to determine appropriate level of care.
  • Ability to develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care. 
  • Clinical expertise specific to adults with chronic, persistent, or severe behavioral health conditions with an ability to engage clients effectively and work with other professionals and organizations.

Education and/or Experience :                                         

  • Grade 7: Clinician III - Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. License to practice in the State of Massachusetts and/or be reimbursable for services by third party insurance preferred. Applicants progressing towards independent license accepted.
  • Grade 8: Clinician IV - LICSW or Licensed Psychologist in the State of Massachusetts. Experience in the area of practice necessary. 
  • Experience in the area of practice is desirable.  
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
