Overview

CHL's Respite Beds program provides temporary housing and support services for clients who are in transition from one living arrangement to another-sometimes coming directly from Worcester State Hospital or a community inpatient unit

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management: Provide oversight of Respite Beds Program.  Act as Program Coordinator during his/her absence.
  • Supervision and Training: Orient and train new staff, as designated, to daily operations of the program and Division procedures. Ensure new staff are oriented and trained as required by CHL.  Provide ongoing supervision to program staff and peers.
  • Census: Ensure accuracy and timeliness of consumer calendar, admission and discharge forms, special billing, and/or Service Activity Logs.
  • Program Management: Plan, Implement and continuously evaluate rehabilitative and support services through assessments, treatment planning to meet individualized needs, and development of peer support groups. Schedule with peers individual times to meet with consumers.
  • Personnel: Take personnel action in regard to disciplinary procedures. 
  • Facilities: Identify problem areas and coordinate work for upkeep of site. Insure day-to-day upkeep of residence and workplace. Work with consumers and staff to maintain the residence on a daily basis including chores, bedroom upkeep, yard and other housekeeping duties.
  • Liaison: Serve as a liaison among other departments and with other agencies in order to facilitate a continuum of care.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related professional duties required in order to provide quality clinical programming.
  • Transportation of consumers may be required in personal car or program vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or related human services field or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 1 year experience. Course work in psychology, sociology, social work or related field a plus.  Will consider several years’ experience in lieu of college degree
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle

  • Previous experience working with clients in human services, mental illness or dual diagnosis.
  • Proven ability to work within a team setting and to act as self-starter.
  • Must be committed to providing quality care.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
