Community Healthlink's Chelsea Street group home provides eight beds with an additional 5 apartments and helps clients to increase their independence, while maintaining their supportive relationships with staff. This is a model that CHL has found successful with some of its HUD-funded programs and is working with DMH to expand.  The program helps clients to increase their independence, while maintaining their supportive relationships with staff.       


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Teach daily living skills
  • Write and implement treatment plans
  • Provide daily care and support for residents
  • Provide crisis management services
  • Participate in group activities
  • Working with residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis including chores, grocery shopping/carrying groceries into the kitchen, bedroom upkeep, laundry to include carrying to and from washer/dryer, yard work, and other moderate housekeeping duties.
  • Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid


  • Grade 5: Residential Counselor I: HSD/GED/HiSet or Associates required
  • Grade 6: Residential Counselor II: Bachelor's degree required; degree and/or coursework in social work, counseling, psychology or related field preferred. 
  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle or a company vehicle
  • Desire to serve others required. 
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and ability to contribute to team objectives required. 
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in social services and/or working with program's population.
