    Come join a friendly and diverse clinical team that provides quality care! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a part-time (32 hrs/wk) residential counselor in Worcester.

     

    Maranda's House is a 9 - bedroom residential program, where we offer permanent housing to women living with HIV/AIDS, including pregnant women and women with children.   This program offers supportive services such as help with obtaining health providers, managing medication, and the prevention of the transmission of the virus. We also assist in empowering our residents with the life skills and knowledge necessary to obtain any resources clients are entitled to including but not limited to:  affordable housing, education, jobs and other community resources We would love to add you to our hard-working and caring team.  Maranda's House is a very welcoming, cozy, homelike environment and a very rewarding place to work!

     

    Duties of a Residential Counselor consist of documentation, facilitating in house groups, one on one sessions with clients and assist with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene and self-care skills, money management and budgeting, symptom management, relapse prevention, use of public transportation and transporting, problem solving and conflict resolution, and other interventions as necessary. Residential Counselors will also transport clients when needed to outside AA/NA meetings or any appointments needing staff support.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assist clients with ADL's
    • Routine paperwork - this includes preparing daily log entries, incident reports and other required paperwork to ensure program meets standards
    • Empathetic and supportive to client needs
    • Aiding clients to locate and utilize outside resources
    • May include transporting clients in personal car or company vehicle
    • Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid within first 5 months of employment
    • Serve as temporary residential counselor
    • Ensure safety in program throughout shift
    • Provide intervention as outlined in treatment plan
    • Monitor client's medications
    • Facilitate Groups

    Qualifications

      

    • Grade 5: Residential Counselor I:Minimum of High School Diploma / GED / HiSet required; Associates degree preferred
    • Grade 6: Residential Counselor II: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or human services degree preferred; will consider Bachelor's degree in non-related field with human services experience.
    • Minimum of 1 years experience
    • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes, including transporting clients in your own vehicle and a company van
    • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
