    Come join a friendly and diverse clinical team that provides quality care! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a part-time (20 hrs/wk) Child Development Specialist/Playroom Staff in Worcester.

     

    CHL’s Youth & Family Center provides clinical services for parents and caregivers of children, adolescents and transitional aged youth with behavioral challenges.  Our multidisciplinary staff clinicians and trainees strive to provide culturally informed and strength based psychological services: office based psychotherapy, assessment and consultation. Psychiatry services are available for ongoing clients.

     

    The Playroom Staff member will provide childcare services to clients of Youth and Family Services of Community Healthlink Inc.  They will oversee play and activities for children of parents participating in behavioral health services at our busy outpatient clinic.  Playroom staff will  work collaboratively as needed with members of the clinic staff. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assures the safety, care, nurturing and comfort of children
    • Oversees and monitors  childcare activities and holiday celebrations
    • Assists children with physical and emotional needs
    • Helps children resolve conflicts
    • Maintains cleanliness and order of playroom for constructive play
    • Washes toys in playroom monthly in bleach solution
    • Provides information to parents and clinic staff  about childcare activities and the child's involvement and interaction
    • Maintains accurate attendance records for the playroom
    • Attends all childcare sessions as scheduled

    Qualifications

    • Grade 5: Child Devleopment Specialist I: Minimum education required- GED/HSD or HiSet
    • Ability to work safely and effectively with at-risk children 12 and under
    • Ability to work as part of a team; ability to follow instructions and complete assignments;
    • Knowledge of effects of domestic violence on children helpful
    • Knowledge of the effects of children growing up in chemically dependent household helpful
    • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques helpfu
    • Certification  in CPR and first aid preferred
    • Experience in Child Care and some understanding of child development
    • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
