    Come join a friendly and diverse clinical team that provides quality care! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Advanced Practice Psychiatric RN in Worcester.


    Adult Outpatient Services at Community Healthlink provides integrated primary and behavioral health care services in our outpatient clinics for our consumers with severe and persistent mental illness and/or a chronic substance use condition. The integrated model includes nurse care managers who coordinate care with the behavioral and primary care providers, perform wellness assessments, develop wellness treatment plans and develop and facilitate wellness activities. Clinic staff include primary care clinicians, licensed psychologists, licensed independent clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, drug and alcohol counselors, psychiatrists, advanced practice psychiatric nurses, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative support staff. The clinic offers open access to services daily for our consumers and our priority population. The clinic offers substance addiction treatment including medication assisted treatment using evidence-supported models.


    The advanced practice psychiatric nurse provides psychiatric assessment, medication consultation, and follow-up services for individual adults with severe and persistent mental illness, chronic substance use conditions, and co-occurring conditions, including individuals with co-occurring developmental disabilities.


    The advanced practice psychiatric nurse works with the MMAT team providing medication assisted treatment for individuals with opioid addiction.

    The advanced practice psychiatric nurse provides timely and appropriate psychiatric care of patients consistent with relevant policies and procedures under the terms of a collaborative agreement with a psychiatric supervisor employed by UMass Memorial Healthcare through Community Healthlink.


    • Completes psychiatric assessments, medication consultations, and follow-up services consistent with the advanced practice agreement with the supervising M.D.
    • Provides each patient, in collaboration with the clinical team, a comprehensive assessment, diagnostic formulation, problem list, treatment plan, and ongoing patient care, further evaluation, consultation and collaboration as necessary to address the safety and treatment needs
    • Provides medication assisted treatment to individuals with an opioid addiction
    • Works collaboratively as a member of patient-centered treatment teams
    • Works collaboratively as a member of the Adult Outpatient clinic’s multi-disciplinary open access teams to coordinate the delivery of appropriate clinical and medical services
    • Maintains all documentation for services provided, with review of information from other providers in the EMR
    • Works in the Adult Outpatient Services clinics in Worcester, Leominster, and Fitchburg
    • Attends relevant training activities
    • Regularly attends required program meetings
    • Prepares and maintains confidential client documentation, service records, staff activity logs (SALS)
    • Performs other related job duties as required

    • Licensure as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
    • Current DPH and DEA certificates
    • An active X Waiver or on track to obtain the waiver
    • Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring developmental disabilities and/or medical conditions
    • Demonstrated knowledge base of adults with severe and persistent mental illness, chronic substance use conditions, opioid addiction, and medical conditions
    • Demonstrated current knowledge of psychiatric medications
    • Demonstrated current knowledge of medication assisted treatment for opioid addiction
    • Ability to work as a member of a team
    • Ability to accurately assess client’s presenting concerns
    • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, peers, and other professionals
    • Timely and accurate documentation skills
    • Meets all qualifications for the advanced practice of psychiatric nursing with prescribing privileges
    • Must be able to pass a CORI background check
